Students from the MASHLM 05 and 06 cohorts started the Jan 2014 session learning how to play The Beer Game with professors Brad Morrison, Jim Hines, and Paulo Gonçalves. The exercise was designed to allows the class to "experience a situation where the structure of the system determines the behavior of the participants." As Prof. Hines explained, everyone makes mistakes but they all do it in similar ways.
The new MASHLM 06 class includes students from Afghanistan, Indonesia, Nigeria, and Ethiopia, Switzerland and Sudan bringing a wide range of experience from their work with organizations like Unicef, the Agha Khan Foundation, IRC, WFP, and MSF.
